Growth Factors

Plasma rich in growth factors, or platelet-rich plasma, is a novel therapy indicated to treat and recover, in a short period of time, muscle injuries, tendon and osteo. With its ability to regenerate muscle tissue, is a complement to surgery.

Never replace these when they are needed, but you can make a delaying prevention function, for example, the time a prosthesis is to be placed. This treatment can improve diseases such as osteoarthritis, injuries such as sprains and muscle tears, and reduce knee pain, shoulder, hip, Elbow ankle.

"The goal is for the patient to fully recover and return to your daily life to the full their abilities, ensuring that surgery is the last option "Andrés Camprodon

What are

factors
Growth factors are proteins that govern key processes of cell growth and division. They are a non-invasive alternative therapy that stimulates natural repair processes of the human body. They are of great importance for the recovery of injuries and overcoming many diseases. Treatment with growth factors does not require hospitalization or surgery. In the field of orthopedic surgery and treatment administered to stimulate wound healing, promote muscle repair, tendons and ligaments and fracture healing. Numerous scientific publications support the positive role of growth factors to stimulate repair and accelerate processes that culminate in the healing of injured tissue.

What they are

Injection of growth factors into the damaged area promotes recovery of ligament injuries, tendons, cartilages the fasciae (muscles). It is particularly suitable for chronic injuries. It is also used to recover muscle injuries, enhance bone regeneration and accelerate the recovery process after surgery.

In Knee Surgery, infiltration of plasma rich in platelets can facilitate reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (LCA). It is also useful in anchoring the joint cartilage. Its application is recommended, inter alia, in:

  • Chronic tendinitis (shoulder, elbow, wrist, tobillo o rodilla).
  • Repair the broken tendon sectioned.
  • Ligament repair (knee or wrist).
  • Cartilage repair.
  • Ulcers of articular cartilage.
  • Sutures and meniscus transplant.
  • Knee Osteoarthritis.
  • Patellar tendonitis or jumper's knee.
  • Injuries and muscle tears.
  • Fractures.
  • Deficiencies and bone graft application cases.
  • Wound healing, delays the healing of defects.
  • Degenerative joint injuries.
  • Plantar fasciitis.
  • Diabetic Foot.
  • Tennis elbow.
  • Golfer's Elbow.
  • Achilles tendinosis.

How are administered

growth factors de-alopecia-baldness,es

Growth factors are applied by an infiltration (injection) Damaged Area. Growth factors are obtained from platelets of a patient's own blood. Platelets are cells that help to plug the wounds to prevent bleeding, and are rich in growth factors. For the treatment with growth factors a small amount of blood from the patient is removed (between 20 and 80 ml).

Stored in tubes and centrifuged to separate the three basic components of the blood: white and red cells; platelet poor plasma; and the platelet-rich plasma. The latter is the releasing growth factors and to be used to infiltrate the injured areas. We recommend two to three injections, intervals of 4 a 7 days. The application of growth factors can be simultaneous with the rehabilitation treatment that is carried out by the patient.

Treatment should be done in extreme aseptic. Skin and subcutaneous tissue is infiltrated with local anesthetic prior. After two minutes of injecting 3 a 5 ml (depending on the treatment area) platelet concentrate buffered, so that it is balanced with the pH of the tissue.

  • Not require hospitalization or surgery.
  • Power the natural regeneration of tissues, bone and cartilage.
  • Reduce inflammation and indirectly pain (have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties).
  • Reduce bleeding (have hemostatic properties).
  • Favor cicatrization.
  • Reduce the rate of infections, thus reduce the need for drainage and lower the incidence of complications.
  • When obtained from the patient no allergic reactions.
